Depression
We all experience moments of sadness; it's a natural part of life triggered by various factors like loss, illness, or financial issues. Typically, these feelings pass within a reasonable timeframe.

However, if the sadness persists beyond a couple of weeks and starts affecting your daily life, it might be a sign of depression. Depression can make you feel helpless, hopeless, and self-blame becomes common. It interferes with work, concentration, eating, sleeping, and other aspects of life, affecting 5-8% of adults in the United States annually.

Many people with depression don't seek treatment, and for athletes, seeking help can be even more challenging due to the expectation of being "mentally tough." Left untreated, symptoms tend to worsen.

It's essential to recognize that seeking help is a sign of strength, and the process can be entirely confidential. You deserve to know that improvement is possible, and I'm here to support you on that journey.
